Iron – Steel Company implements widening iron pipes projects
BAGHDAD . Sept. 19 (Iraqi News) – The General Iron and Steel Company started implementing widening iron pipes project in cooperation with the German side with a total cost 10.5 billion Iraqi dinars within the investment plan 2008, a source from the Iraqi ministry of industry and minerals said. “The budget allocated for the company is 14.9 billion Iraqi dinars and the remaining amount is 4.4 billion was allocated to rehabilitate the company,” a statement posted by the ministry’s website said quoting an official source as saying. The statement gave nor more details. The General Iron and Steel Company, which is one of the largest industrial complexes in Basra governorate and the region, specializes in making building, sponge and spiral iron pipes. One of the company’s most important achievements has been rebuilding the electrical energy towers in Iraq ‘s southern region and the communications towers for the postal offices.
