Kuwaiti firm to build $40m. hotel in Thi-Qar

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: The Investment Commission in Thi-Qar on Wednesday granted a Kuwaiti company an investment permit to build a superb tourist hotel at an estimated cost of $40 million U.S. dollars. “Abdelrazeq al-Salihi and Partners Company has received a permit to set up a five-star hotel of international standards during a ceremony held today at the Businessmen’s Union Hall and with the participation of Thi-Qar Governor Aziz Kadhem Alwan,” Ismail al-Abboudi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The permit was granted after all legal procedures had been completed in accordance with the Investment Law no. 12 of the year 2006,” he explained. “The project includes the establishment of a six-story hotel on an area of 14,000 square meters,” Abboudi noted, adding that the estimated completion period is 30 months. Nassiriya, the capital city of Thi-Qar province, lies 385 km south of Baghdad. SS (P)/SR 1
