Maliki desires to closely follow work in oil fields, statement

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com:  Iraqi Premier Nouri al-Maliki expressed his desire to follow up on the work in oil fields, as well as the work of companies there.   Maliki received a delegation from BP oil company, according to a statement issued by his office.   According to the statement, Maliki hoped that BP will implement its commitments in Iraq.   He added that Iraq needs economic work, and that “we welcome all international companies to participate in the reconstruction and developing of the Iraqi economy.”   On the other hand, the executive director of BP confirmed that the company will abide by its commitments in Iraq, particularly with Southern Oil Company, and “our goal is to contribute toward Iraqi reconstruction in the fields of oil and investment.” RM (TS)/SR 532
