Mayor urges Czech companies to help develop Baghdad
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Baghdad’s mayor, Sabir al-Isawi, on Wednesday received the Czech ambassador in Iraq and called on Czech companies to participate in developing services projects in the Iraqi capital, according to a release issued by Baghdad Mayoralty. “Al-Isawi and the Czech ambassador discussed horizons of mutual cooperation and the participation of Czech companies in executing important and strategic projects in Baghdad,” said the release that was received by IraqiNews.com. “The two sides agreed on forming a joint operation room to develop and rehabilitate Baghdad,” it added. “There is a group of projects, such us Baghdad’s subway at a total cost of $3 billion, a residential compound at a total cost of $10 billion, and a 27 km highway,” the release quoted Baghdad’s mayor as saying.
