Minister of Woman Affairs heads meeting to emphasize on family values

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Supreme Committee of family protection held its 14th session at the building of the General Secretariat of the Cabinet under the chairmanship of the Minister of Woman Affairs and with the attendance of the Committee’s members as well as the representative of the Development Fund of the UN.

The Ministry of Woman Affairs reported in statement to IraqiNews.com on Wednesday that “The agenda of the meeting included, some topics most notably were, presenting the strategy of the Family’s Protection Directorate which was approved and adopted unanimously after an integrated study for all the effects of the case.”

The statement added that “The support of the family will be accomplished through creating an environment which all the Iraqi sects can trust the judicially system and its capacity to promote the human rights and family values and in this way the Directorate of Family Protection will contribute in creating a society clear of violence.”

The statement pointed out that “At the end of the session the Minister of Woman Affairs, Ibtehal al-Zaydi, confirmed her committment to follow up and implement more strategic programs due to their importance for the family in general.”
