Missan plants new variety of potatoes

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Planting a new variety of Turkish potatoes has begun in Missan province, according to the director of the local agricultural department. “The planting experiment was very successful. One donum of land (1 donum = 2,500 square meters) has produced seven tons of good quality potatoes,” Engineer Nasser Manati told IraqiNews.com news agency. “These results will encourage peasants to plant this variety of potatoes…,” Manati added.
