Modern village to be set up in Amara

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: A total of 5,000 donums of agricultural land has been zoned for the establishment of a modern village in northern Amara city. “The village, which will be set up in Nahr Saad area, will serve agricultural engineers and guides, and veterinarians,” an assistant director of the agricultural investment department in Missan, Majid Jumaa al-Saadi, told IraqiNews.com. Beneficiaries will receive loans to set up agricultural and livestock projects, Saadi added. (1 donum= 2,500 square meters). Nahr Saad area is administratively affiliated with Kmit district, which lies 25 km north of downtown Missan province. The area is known for its vast fertile land. Missan is a Shiite province. Its capital city is al-Amara. Sitting on the Tigris River, Amara lies 390 km south of Baghdad. Missan, in the east of the country, bordering Iran, is home to many marsh Arabs. SS (P)/SR 1
