Oil minister in meeting with IMF

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi minister of oil, Hussein al-Shahrestani, on Thursday will participate in an Amman-based meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over the latest developments on the Iraqi economic scene. “Shahrestani will point out the progress that has been made by Iraq throughout this year,” a spokesperson for the ministry, Aasem Jihad, told IraqiNews.com, in reference to the increase in oil production levels and oil export figures. The minister will also discuss the effects of the increase of crude oil prices on Iraqi economy, Jihad added. SS (P) 1
