Over 240m shares traded in ISX 5th electronic session
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Stock Exchange (ISX) on Sunday held its fifth electronic trading session, where over 240 million shares were traded at a value of over 363 million Iraqi dinars(ID) ($310,000 U.S. dollars). Forty-eight transactions were made during the session, in which trading took place over the shares of four joint-stock firms out of a total five registered at the ISX. The firms are the Ashur International Bank (AIB), the Commercial Bank of Iraq (CBIQ), al-Mansour Hotel and Ashtar Hotel. The AIB retained its share rates during the previous e-trading session at ID1.150, while the CBIQ’s shares dropped to ID1.500. Meanwhile, al-Mansour Hotel’s shares rose from ID33.100 to close at ID37.600 and Ashtar Hotel rose from ID34.800 to close at ID34.850. The ISX had witnessed the first e-trading session on April 19 over five registered companies, three banks and two hotels. The ISX holds three sessions on a weekly basis: one electronic session over five joint-stock companies on Sundays and two manual trading sessions over 86 registered companies out of a total 91 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
