Solutions for Kurdistan RegionG’s allocations- MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A parliamentarian from the financial committee on Tuesday said that the government has reached a workable solution for the allocations for Iraq’s Kurdistan region. “Seventeen percent of Iraq’s budget, totaling $59 billion U.S. dollars, will be allocated for the region until a population census is conducted in Iraq,” MP Sami al-Atroushi from the Kurdistan Islamic Party told IraqiNews.com news agency. The census is scheduled to take place in October. The Iraqi Parliament will soon vote on the 2009 budget, which has been returned to the government with instructions to make further reductions in light of the fall in international oil prices.
