Turkish company seeks investments in Wassit province

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: A Turkish company discussed with Wassit‘s local government the possibility of investment opportunities in the fields of energy and industrial projects on a deferred payment basis, the head of investment committee in the council was reported as saying.   Eng. Yasir al-Yasiri told IraqiNews.com that representatives of the Turkish ATK company visited the province, taking into consideration that the company implemented a number of projects in Iraq in the fields of health, electricity and irrigation.   The proposed projects shall be submitted to the province council for approval, as Yasiri stated.   The province signed yesterday a memorandum of understanding with a Chinese company to establish a power station with the capacity of 330 megawatts.   Kut, the center of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of the capital, Baghdad.
