U.S. officer says to continue construction projects after June

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: The commander of the Multi-National Force (MNF) in Wassit said on Friday that the consultative division of his forces will continue its work with contractors to implement reconstruction projects after June 30. “The division will resume work with contractors after the U.S. withdrawal from Iraqi cities, scheduled at the end of this June,” Col. Richard Francy told IraqiNews.com news agency. The consultative division is taking as headquarters the Delta military base, seven kilometers western al-Kut city. “The division will also provide training for the Iraqi security forces,” he said, adding Iraqi army and police personnel are capable of imposing order and security all over the province of Wassit as they gained experience confronting armed groups and outlaws.
