Workshop on credit crunch repercussions

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A workshop on the repercussions of the current international financial crisis for the Iraqi economy was held in the capital Baghdad with the participation of several state officials, including former Planning Minister Mahdi al-Hafiz. “The workshop will focus on solutions that are compatible with the Iraqi situation to mitigate the effects of the crisis…,” the chairman of the Iraqi businessmen union, Ragheb Rida Bulaybel, told IraqiNews.com. The current credit crisis, which most analysts link to the sub-prime mortgage business, has hit most of the world’s economies, particularly in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
