Denunciations for arresting press photographer

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Press Freedoms Observatory and the Iraqi Association for the Defense of Freedom of Journalists denounced today the arrest of press photographer while he was covering the demonstrations of Yesterday in Tahrir Square mid of Baghdad. In a statement by the Press Freedoms Observatory, copy received by IraqiNews.com, denunciation was expressed for arresting the photographer Saad Allah Al-Khalidi during his duty on Friday. It added that the “arrest is a very dangerous precedent that should be countered at the parliament and the higher legislative council. On the other hand, the Iraqi Association for the Defense of Freedom of Journalists issued a statement, copy received by IraqiNews.com, in which it condemned the atrocities against the journalists as “avowed attack against the freedom of expression and gagging the freedom of press”.
