Iraqi singer appointed UNICEF Good-will ambassador
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Artist singer Kadhim Al-Saher was appointed as UNICEF Good-will Ambassador to Iraq, UN Organization announced today. In a joint conference between the UNICEF and Al-Saher, copy received by IraqiNews.com, both declared that the new UN program is directed to meet the needs of Iraqi children, particularly those living in the countryside. Al-Saher promised to do his best to follow-up Iraqi children’s needs. Al-Saher has his own reputation in Iraq as well as the Middle East and North Africa areas. He was born in Mosul, north Iraq, in 1957 and got many prizes and decorations on the Arab levels. The UNICEF works in Iraq since 1983 in coordination with the Iraqi government to lay down clear-cut policies to develop the lives of children and gaining their rights. The organization works in 150 countries all over the world to help the children stay alive. It, also, provides assistance in health care, children nutrition and basic teaching. RM (TP)/SH 841
