National Alliance’s representation in NCSP less than 50%
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Chairman of the Shiite al-Fadhila (Virtue) Bloc in the National Alliance, led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, has said that the Coalition’s representation in the National Council for Strategic Policies (NCSP) is less than 50 percent. “The proposed representation for the political blocs in the draft-law of the NCSP does not abide by the constitutional balancing, as the National Alliance deserves more than 50 percent, whilst the total representatives of the Coalition in the proposed Council does not exceed 8 out of its 20 members,” Ammar Tu’ma said in a statement on Saturday. The statement, as was received by IraqiNews.com news agency, stressed that “he, who demanded the Parliament to discuss the NCSP’s reading in its current session, had justified his demand by saying that the current phase was a transitional one and needed partnership and division of power.” SKH (TS)/SR 343
