New Prisons to be built in Iraq – minister of justice

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi minister of Justice Hassan al-Shammari announced today building new prisons in the province to meet human rights standards. In a statement by the ministry, copy received by IraqiNews.com, the minister received the Human Rights responsible at UNAMI Francesco Mota . Minister Shammari disclosed that preparations were completed to build big prison in Babil province, instead of the present old one. The capacity of this prison shall be 20.000 occupants, the minister added. Mr.Mota praised the ministry’s achievement in the human rights sector, which shall be included in his annual report. RM (TP)/SRNumber of Reads:24
