Talabani, Maliki, Allawi, other Leaders attend funeral of Barzani’s mother in Arbil

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Iraq ’s President Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, Parliament Speaker Usama al-Nujeify, al-Iraqiya Leader Iyad Allawi, Vice-Presidents Tareq al-Hashimy and Khudhier al-Khuzae and a number of Parliament Members, religious and social leaders have attended in Arbil on Friday the funeral of Kurdistan President’s Mother, Lady Hamael Khan, who passéd away last Wednesday.   The government of North Iraq’s Kurdistan Region had announced a 3-day mourning on occasion of the death of Barzani’s Mother, who passed away last Wednesday, a Kurdistan statement reported.   Late Hamel Khan, born in 1926, was married to the Late Kurdish Leader and Massoud’s Father, Mulla Mustapha Barzani in 1944, with whom she participated in the formation of the Kurdish Mahabad Republic in northeastern Iran and gave berth to their eldest son, Masoud Barzani, now the President of Kurdisan Region on August 16, 1946.   SKH (ST) 2311
