PM Abadi dismisses 10 military leaders, appoints 18 to new Ministry of Defense positions
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Wednesday, Prime Minister and Commander of Armed Forces, Haider al-Abadi ordered to retire 10 leaders from their positions and appoint 18 others in new positions at the Ministry of Defense.
Iraq’s official channel ‘Iraqiya’ said in a newsflash followed by IraqiNews.com, “Prime Minister and Commander of Armed Forces, Haider al-Abadi ordered to retire 10 leaders and appoint new leaders in 18 positions at the Ministry of Defense.”
Abadi has issued orders to exempt 26 leaders from their positions earlier today.
Noteworthy, on November 7th the religious authority called for the elimination of all manifestations of corruption in the military establishment, noting that some of the military joints were not built in a “professional and scientific way”.
