Abadi condemns insulting the Prophet and terrorism
(IraqiNews.com) On Saturday, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi condemned insulting the Prophet Mohammad by one of the French magazines, stressing that it’s unrelated to freedom of expression. He called everyone to stop these practices.
Abadi said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “We condemn and reject what was published by a French magazine about the holy Prophet Muhammad who came with a message of tolerance, peace, justice and the rejection of injustice,” noting that, “Today the word of insulting leads to bloodshed and attacks on privacy. That only results in terrorism and creating an atmosphere of fear and terror.”
Abadi added, “We strongly condemn terrorism and attacks on innocent people,” adding that, “Iraq is the most suffered from terrorism; it is fighting a war against terrorist gangs that have no relation of Islam in any way.”
