Abadi meets with heads of blocs, affirms implementation of the reforms
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has met the heads of blocs, stressing his commitment to the implementation of reforms without any discrimination, while praised the good relationship between protesters and security forces during the demonstrations.
Abadi’s office said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi held yesterday an expanded meeting attended by Vice-Chairman of the House of Representatives and heads of parliamentary blocs, as well as a number of members of the House of Representatives,” explaining that “al-Abadi gave a detailed explanation of the overall reforms and their importance in building the state and society, and the face of the country’s security and economic challenges. ”
The statement quoted al-Abadi as saying that “reforms are needed to achieve the approach to justice and the fight against corruption, as well as reducing the gap between the official and the citizen,” stressing his commitment to “the implementation of reforms in accordance with the law and the constitution without any exception or discrimination.”
