Baghdad Governorate: emergency cell formed in anticipation of natural disasters
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad Governorate announced allocating a budget of IQD 39 billion for the cell crisis of the Capital for emergency cases to confront the natural and contrived disasters. Baghdad Governor Salah Abdul Razaq said “The Provincial Council of Baghdad approved allocating IQD 39 billion to cover all the expenses of the emergency cell which has been formed recently in case of any natural disasters.” Razaq clarified “The cell was set up in coordination with Ministries of Health, Water Resources, Trade, Municipalities, Defense, Transportation, Electricity, Civil Defense Directorate, Baghdad Mayorship and Red Crescent Association,” noting that “A delegation from BG was sent to Turkey to discuss the mechanisms adopted globally in emergency cases.” “The emergency situations were classified as six major cases covering the terrorist attacks, wild fires, floods, leakage of toxic gas, in addition to the rash of sewer lines into residential areas and the dust storms which are hitting Baghdad from time to time over the last period,” the Governor concluded.
