Director General, 2 employees in MoI, sentenced for 5 years in prison
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Rusafa Criminal Court sentenced the former Director General of the General Company for Designs and Industrial Constructions in the Ministry of Industry besides two of its employees for five years in prison over their attempt to invest (IQD 18 billion) from the public money for personal interests. A report by the Public Integrity Commission cited “The Director General connived with the director General of Supervision and Scrutiny Department in the Company and the Director of Financial Department to deposit the sums that were allocated to purchase power generators for the company’s departments as a fixed deposit in Basra International Bank for three months at an interest rate of 5% which is against law.”
