Diyala Appeal Court releases 124 defendants

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Diyala Appeal Court announced releasing (124) defendants during the investigation phase in 2012.

A statement by the Supreme Judicial Council quoted the Chairman of the Appeal Court as saying ”The judicial investigation Office in Muqdadiya within the Presidency of Diyala Federal Court decided to release (124) defendants during investigation stage,” noting that “The defendants were released during the period from 12/6/2012 until 30/8/2012.”

The statement explained that ”The defendants who were released starting from June were 15 defendants and 50 defendants in July while in August the released defendants reached 59.”

The statement pointed out that ”The Supreme Judicial Council declared the success of the judicial investigation offices, which were created in 2010, to participate in resolving many lawsuits, expecting an increase in these offices for the service of the citizens.” \
