Iraqi court fines Lebanese publishing house
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) An Iraqi court issued financial fine of IQD 200 million against a Lebanese publishing house for publishing a book written by Iraqi writer without taking his permission. Speaking to (IraqiNews.com), the legal expert Tareq Harb said “A Lebanese publishing house has published a book of the late Iraqi author (Ahmed Abdul Baqi) about Samarra city, under the title “Samarra in Abbasid period” without getting permission from the writer’s family, so the author’s parents decided to sue the publishing house.” Harb added “The book was written in 1989; it is considered as one of the rare books where it describes Samarra city in a detailed description.”
