Iraqi Government to replace ration card with cash on March 2013
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The official spokesperson of The Iraqi Government Ali al-Dabbagh announced that the Council of Ministers decided on Tuesday session to replace the ration card with amounts of cash starting from March 2013.
Dabbagh mentioned in statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The Cabinet decided to replace ration card with amounts of cash which will be distributed on people, who are covered by ration card, and each individual will receive IQD 15,000 instead of his share of the ration card.”
The statement added ”There will be terms and controls to forbid manipulating the price of flour,” pointing out that ”A committee will be formed to be headed by the Minister of Trade and membership of Minister of Planning, Minister of Finance, Baghdad Mayor and representative of the General Secretariat of the Cabinet to assume setting the controls of the implementation of this resolution.”
He added ”The Council of Ministers decided to allocate IQD 700 million to import electricity power basing on article 43 of the Federal Budget Law of 2012.” \
