Iraqi immigrants in Belgium wish security for their Homeland

BRUSSELS  / IraqiNews.com: Despite differences in their security and living conditions, Iraqi immigrants abroad share their compatriots inside Iraq in wishes that security and stability would be restored in their country, facing continuous security violations, causing hundreds of victims.   The Iraqi immigrants in Belgium are no different than other Iraqis abroad, including politicians, intellectuals, journalists and others, who are still stuck to their Homeland and their leading wish is that security, stability and peace would render in Iraq .   Among those Iraqis living in Belgium nowadays is the Charge d’Affaires in the Iraqi Embassy in Brussels , Miqdad Abdul-Riza, who wished that “stability, progress and economic progress would prevail on Iraq , as well as opening broad horizons for the future generations in the country.”   The Representative of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council in Belgium , Iyad Mohammed, had expressed wish that the Iraqi government “would succeed to achieve services and high living standards for the Iraqi people.”   “I wish that Iraq would achieve its desired stability and that the government would manage to achieve necessary services to raise the living standards of the Iraqi people, as well as prosperity and progress, in order to help Iraq restore its advances level,” Mohammed told IraqiNews.com news agency.   On their part, the Iraqi media sources abroad have supported the Iraqi politicians in their hopes that “Eid al-Fitr Holidays,” whilst the Editor-in-Chief of Al-Adwa’a Newspaper in Holland, Kifah al-Husseiniy, said: “I wish God Almighty would restore welfare, security and further stability for our Iraqi people and that Iraq would heal its wounds and restore its position as a strong country, with its people and national unity.”   The Correspondent of al-Baghdadiya TV Satellite Channel in Beligium, Falestin al-Janaby, has expressed hope that Iraq would “achieve security and stability, both in Iraq and other Arab countries, as well as all peoples of the Middle East and the whole humanity.”   The Intellectual, Dr. Anas, said: “I hope that the Iraqi people would achieve welfare, progress and happiness, and that Iraq would restore its stability and security.”   Um-Hiba, a Kurdish lady, who had left Iraq 1983, said: “I hope that Allah would restore good health and safeguard my husband and brothers, and that all Muslims would rejoice their Eid Holidays, and that Iraq and other Islamic peoples would live in welfare and security.”   But the wish of Firas, who lost his father and two brothers in 2006, during the sectarian clashes in Baghdad , said: “My greatest wish is to meet my family, who I was deprive from for 6 years.. I’m very   hopeful to see my mother.”   The total number of Iraqi immigrants in Belgium ranges from 5,000-6,000, most of them have arrived during the past few years.   SKH (FT) 717
