Kurdistan Region crowns Miss 2012

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Kurdistan Region launched a competition to choose the Kurdistan Miss Beauty for 2012. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s website cited “Within the framework of (Hala Hawler) program for marketing and tourism promotion, the ceremony of electing Kurdistan Miss 2012 has been launched on last Thursday in Rotana Hotel in Erbil with attendance of large gathering of people in addition to Consuls of Britain and France and the representatives of the Lebanese Companies which sponsored the festival.” It added “The (SNR) Lebanese sponsor Company assured that the competition followed global criterion in choosing the winner, taking into consideration customs and traditions of Kurdistan Region.” “12 Kurdish females were selected out of 42 by a committee consisting of 8 judges among them Miss Britain and the Lebanese singer Dina Hayek,” the statement mentioned. “After several rounds of competition, (Chena Aziz), 18 years old was selected to wear the crown of Miss Kurdistan for 2012,” the statement concluded.
