Kurdistan Region government seeks compensation for displaced families

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The Office of Displacement and Migration within Kurdistan Regional Government demanded the Ministry of Finance to equip the office with IQD (105) million to compensate families that returned to Kurdistan Region from neighbor countries.

The Director of Displacement and Migration Office within Kurdistan Region, Shaker Yasin, reported in a press statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The office demanded the Ministry of Finance in Kurdistan Region to equip the office with compensation funds in order to be distributed among the families that returned to Kurdistan Region since they escaped during the former regime.”

”The Ministry of Finance is not obligated to provide this fund in a certain time and its can pay it when the fund is available,” he concluded.
