Ministry of Oil, USAID conclude understanding convention

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Oil signed an understanding convention with the United State of America, represented by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), to specify the outlines of the US support to the Iraqi Ministry of Oil in order to enhance the level of its effectiveness and transparency.The US Embassy to Baghdad reported in statement received by IraqiNews.com on Sunday “The signing ceremony took place at the building of the US Embassy with the attendance of the Director General of Training and Development of the Ministry of Oil, Iqdam Mohamed Reda, and the Director of the (USAID) Mission, Thomas Stal.””The Understanding Convention stipulates offering the support to the Iraqi Ministry of Oil through the administrative correction project, which is named (Tarabut),” the statement added, noting that “The project will be funded by the (USAID) according to the strategic convention framework that was signed between Iraq and America.””The project will help to upgrade the level of services and apply the transparency principal to meet the needs of Iraqis in a better way,” the statement pointed out.The Director of USAID stated that “The signing of this project is an important part of the US commitment towards Iraq to manage its resources more efficiently for the interest of Iraqi people.” \
