Najaf PC condemns clashes between security forces, trespassers

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) Najaf Provincial Council condemned the clashes that took place on last Wednesday between the security forces and a number of squatters on the state-owned lands.

The director of Media office of Najaf PC, Mohamed al-Khozayi stated to IraqiNews.com “Najaf PC issued a statement about the events that took place between the security forces and the trespassers on background of carrying out a decision to evacuate the squatters from land of Al Ghadeer residential complex project in north of the province.”

“We call to evacuate those lands from the squatter houses,” the statement added noting “this decision came in response to the request of the implementing company of the project in this regard.”

It is worth to mention that Najaf province witnessed on last Wednesday clashes between the Rapid Reaction Forces and riot police on one hand, and the squatters on the other hand resulted in killing one of the trespassers and injuring some individuals from both sides.
