New generating unit added to Najaf 2nd Electricity Station

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Electricity announced accomplishing the rehabilitation works on the second generating unit within the Second Najaf Electricity Station.Spokesperson of the MoE Musab al-Mudaris reported in a statement to IraqiNews.com “The rehabilitation works on the second unit have been accomplished on record time since it took 40 days instead of 60 days.”He added “The second unit was added to service with 70 Mega-Watt whic is expected to increase into 110 Mega-Watts when gas pressure increases in pipes provided from Ministry of Oil.””The station comprises two generating units of US Origin with 125 Mega-Watts per unit, operating by natural gas, with a total capacity of 250 mega- Watts,” Mudaris concluded.
