Sadr urges followers to “trim beards”

(IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, cleric Muqtada al-Sadr urged his followers of al-Salam Brigades fighters to trim their beards, noting that prolonging it is unreasonable and deemed “a social and  legitimate abomination”.

Sadr said, in response to a question on elements of Saraya Asalam triming their beards received by Iraqi News.com, “Fighters, including elements of Saraya Asalam, comitting to trimming their beards is a duty.”

Al-Sadr added, “Growing beards is unreasonable and unrecognized,” considering it a social and legitimate abomination, adding that trimming them is desirable and more acceptable.
