 We seek to build national army serving all Iraqis without exception, says Iraqi president

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Iraqi President Fuad Masum declared Iraq’s intention to build a distinctive and sophisticated relations with Egypt, as well as all Arab and neighboring countries, while pointed out to the importance of Egypt’s support to Iraq in order to enhance military cooperation.

Msum also revealed, that Baghdad is seeking to build a national army based on a professional basis to serve all Iraqis without exception.

The Iraqi presidency media office said in a press statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “On Monday, President Masum met the Egyptian President al-Sisi and discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries,” pointing out that, “A formal meeting was held between the Iraqi and Egyptian delegations in a friendly and positive atmosphere.”

The statement added, “Masum highlighted the importance of benefiting from the Egyptian expertise in industry, agriculture and tourism, as well as the development of cultural and academic relations between the two countries,” indicating that, “Iraq will pass all obstacles to build a united and progressive democratic state.”

Meanwhile, al-Sisi welcomed the visit, while pointed out that Egypt is ready to cooperate with Iraq in all military, economic, cultural and academic fields.

Noteworthy, Masum is visiting the Egyptian capital, Cairo, along with a high-level delegation including Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari, Agriculture Minister Falah Hassan Zeidan, National Security Advisor Faleh al-Fayad, and a number of officials.
