We signed MoU about diplomatic and special passports with Iran, says Jaafari

(IraqiNews.com) Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari announced Tuesday, that Iraq and Iran have signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the diplomatic and special passports, saying that Iraq has achieved successes on the security and political levels, not only locally.

Jaafari said during a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif in Baghdad, attended by IraqiNews.com, “We welcome the fourth visit of the Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Baghdad. Throughout these visits, the Iraqi-Iranian relations have witnessed great progress,” adding that, “Prior to this visit, there was the Vice President of the Islamic Republic’s visit, in which a number of memorandums of understanding and cooperation concerning the two countries were signed.”

Jaafari said, “We are working to strengthen our relations with the known six neighboring countries and all countries of the world,” explaining that, “Iraq is looking forward to strengthening these relationships and achieving common interests with the Islamic Republic.”

Al-Jaafari added, “We signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the diplomatic passports as well as special passports,” pointing out that, “Iraq has achieved great successes, not only locally, but also on the security and political levels.”
