Vatican officially recognizes Palestinian state

(IraqiNews.com) The Vatican officially recognized the Palestinian state in a new agreement on Wednesday, but it still needs to be signed by the Palestinian president and the Holy See.
The Convention, which was formulated today, explains that the Holy See amended the diplomatic relations with the Palestinian side of the Palestine Liberation Organization to the State of Palestine.
The Vatican welcomed the resolution adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 2012 which recognized the State of Palestine. This Convention is the first legal document negotiated between the Holy See and the Palestinian state and included formal recognition.
