We will not allow state salaries to go to ISIS areas without scrutiny, says Abadi
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced on Saturday, that he will not allow any salaries to go to areas under ISIS control without scrutiny, attributing the reason to the fact that some of those salaries go to the organization.
Abadi said in a statement issued on the sidelines of a meeting with a number of families of the victims and political prisoners, followed by IraqiNews.com, “The administrative and financial corruption is not less dangerous than terrorism,” pointing out that, “the country is facing many challenges and the government is working to overcome these challenges.”
With regard to the distribution of the salaries in areas controlled by ISIS, Abadi stressed that, “we will not allow any salaries to be distributed without scrutiny,” attributing the reason to the fact that “some of those funds go to ISIS”.
Abadi pointed out that, “The government has a program to serve the citizens; we are determined to make it successful.”
