12 suspected gunmen arrested in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Multi-National Forces said on Monday that they arrested 12 suspected gunmen during operations throughout Iraq. “One suspected terrorist was captured during an operation in Baghdad. The targeted terrorist is believed to be a media operations leader. During a follow-on operation Monday in Baghdad targeting the wanted man’s network, one additional suspect was detained,” said the forces in a statement received by IraqiNews.com. “An operation in Karmah, 41 km west of Baghdad, netted one wanted man as Coalition forces targeted terrorist leadership networks in that region,” it added. “In Ramadi, 100 km northwest of Baghdad, Coalition forces captured one suspected terrorist believed to have connections with regional terrorist leaders. Two additional suspects were detained as well,” it said. “In Mosul, a suspected terrorist assessed to be a Mosul-based AQI leader was captured Monday in Mosul along with one of his alleged associates,” the statement noted. “Coalition forces detained three suspects Monday in Rawah, 212 km southwest of Mosul. The target of the operation was an individual believed to be involved with foreign terrorist facilitation networks,” it said. SH (S)/SR 1
