18 wanted men, including foreigners, arrested in Basra
BASRA / IraqiNews.com: At least 12 wanted men, among them 4 suspected of involvement in terrorist cases, 6 Pakistanis, have been detained, along with a quantity of weapons and ammunition confiscated, by Basra police in al-Zubair and Abul-Khasib townships, Basra’s Police Director General reported on Sunday. “Basra police forces have launched a number of inspection operations in al-Zubair, 30 km to the west of Basra city and Abul-Khashib, 20 km to the south of the city, arresting 12 wanted men, including 4 charged with terrorist cases,” Lt-Brigadier, Faisal al-Ubadi told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that “six other persons, carrying Pakistani nationalities, were arrested due to the end of their legal residency in the Basra Province,” adding that his forces had managed to confiscate 8 rifles, a pistol and a quantity of ammunition.” SKH (TS)/SR 651
