2 bodies found, 2 wanted men arrested in Mosul
NINEWA, Sept. 19 (Iraqi News) – A police force found two unidentified bodies while Iraqi army troops captured two wanted men in separate incidents west of Mosul on Friday, a spokesman for the Ninewa Operations Command (NOC) said. “The security forces found two unknown bodies in al-Kifah neighborhood in Talafar district, (60 km) west of Mosul,” Brig. Khaled Abdelsattar told IraqiNews.com – Voices of Iraq – (Iraqi News). “Near the scene, policemen found a machine-gun, a Kalashnikov assault rifle, two hand-grenades and 300 rounds of light fire,” he said. Meanwhile, Abdelsattar added, a force from the Iraqi army’s 3 rd Division captured on Friday two wanted men in the district of Sinjar, (120 km) west of Mosul, not giving more details. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. The original city of Mosul stands on the west bank of the Tigris River, opposite the ancient biblical city of Nineveh on the east bank, but the metropolitan area has now grown to encompass substantial areas on both banks, with five bridges linking the two sides.
