2 brothers killed, third wounded in attack in Mosul
NINEWA, Sept. 21 (Iraqi News) – Two brothers were killed and a third wounded on Sunday in an attack by unidentified gunmen in western Mosul , a security source in Ninewa province said. “Unidentified gunmen opened fire at three brothers who were walking on a street in the area of Ra’s al-Jouda, western Mosul, killing two of them and wounding the third,” the source, who did not want to be named, told IraqiNews.com – Voices of Iraq – (Iraqi News). “The two bodies were removed to a morgue in Mosul while the wounded civilian was rushed to the Mosul public hospital, in the southern part of the city, for treatment,” the source added. Mosul , the capital city of Ninewa , lies 405 km north of Baghdad . The original city of Mosul stands on the west bank of the Tigris River, opposite the ancient biblical city of Nineveh on the east bank, but the metropolitan area has now grown to encompass substantial areas on both banks, with five bridges linking the two sides.
