2 gunmen arrested near Makhmour

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Two gunmen believed to belong to the so-called al-Naqshabandiya group were arrested during a security operation near Makhmour district on Friday, an Iraqi army source said. “A force from the 7th brigade of the Iraqi army waged on Friday (2-1-209) a military operation near Oumrawa village, west of Makhmour, where it arrested two people, suspected of being members of the so-called al-Naqshabandiya group,” the source told IraqiNews.com. Al-Naqshabandiya is a group that introduces itself as an Islamic spiritual dogmatic organization, but its ideologies changed into ones of armed struggle against the occupation forces. The disputed Makhmour district is administratively affiliated with Ninewa province. It is 68 km southwest of Arbil city, which lies 349 km northeast of the capital Baghdad. SH (P) 1
