20 detained in Kirkuk
KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi-U.S. forces on Thursday arrested 20 wanted and suspected gunmen during a security raid in the southwest of Kirkuk, the chief of the local police said. “An Iraqi police force, backed by U.S. troops, waged a wide-scale operation in al-Hai al-Senaaei region, Dokhiliya village, al-Sayez region, and al-Mustafiya village in Huweija district, southwest of Kirkuk, where 20 wanted and suspected gunmen were arrested,” Brig. Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Saddam Yassein Taha, a wanted man, was among the detainees,” Qader noted. “The forces also seized 25 unlicensed guns and 4 motorcycles of armed groups,” he added. Kirkuk is 250 km northeast of Baghdad. SH (P)/SR 1
