3 ISIS elements killed during security operations in Anbar Province
(IraqiNews.com) al-Anbar – The commander of Anbar Operations, Maj. Gen. Ismail al-Mahalawi, announced on Tuesday the killing of three terrorists during two security operations by the international coalition as well as the Iraqi army in the province of Anbar.
Mahalawi said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “A force belonging to the Iraqi army had managed to shell a booby-trapped vehicle driven by an ISIS suicide bomber northeast of al-Juraiyshi area located north of Ramadi,” noting that, “The bombing was carried out through the Russian Kornet missile system, resulting in the destruction of the vehicle and the death of the bomber inside it.”
Mahalawi also added, “The international coalition, in coordination with Anbar Operations, managed to bombard a mortar detachment belonging to the [ISIS] in the area of al-Subaiyhat west of Fallujah,” pointing out that, “The operation resulted in killing two ISIS elements.”
