3 mass graves found south of Tikrit
(IraqiNews.com) A security source in Salahuddin province announced Tuesday, that the security forces have found three mass graves containing the remains of 11 civilians and soldiers south of Tikrit.
The source said in an interview with IraqiNews.com, “The security forces found today three mass graves containing the remains of about 11 people in Tel Thahab and the vicinity of Balad district (80 km south of Tikrit),” noting that “ISIS militants used to control those regions.”
The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The remains belong to civilian and military personnel who were executed by ISIS when it controlled these areas.”
Medical teams extracted on March 14th about 20 bodies of people wearing red clothes from a mass grave in Albu-Ajeel area east of Tikrit.
It noteworthy that the ISIS group has been implementing mass executions to the people of areas it dominated.
