3 persons arrested, car bomb seized in Karbala

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: Police forces arrested in Karbala city on Thursday three persons, and seized a car bomb they had along with guns with silencers. “The operation took place in al-Moalimeen neighborhood, 3 km west of Karbala,” a local police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He explained that the three persons are residents of Baghdad, and compose an armed cell. “Their plot was to detonate the car in Karbala city,” the source added. He noted that the bomb squad defused the bobby-trapped car. “Interrogations are underway to learn the sides that support the three men, in addition to the place where the car was bobby-trapped,” the source pointed out.
