3 policemen killed, wounded in Falluja blast

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: A police officer was killed and two other police personnel wounded in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in eastern al-Falluja city on Sunday, a local security source in al-Anbar province said. “An IED went off near a tower of the al-Mashhamiya checkpoint in central al-Karma district, eastern Falluja, during duty handover, leaving a First Lieutenant killed and two other policemen wounded,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Police forces searched all checkpoints in the exits and entrances of al-Karma lest there are other explosive charges targeting civilians and security forces,” he added. Falluja, the largest city in the troubled predominantly Sunni province of al-Anbar, lies 45 km west of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 1
