4 involved in Camp Echo shelling arrested
DIWANIYA / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi army forces on Saturday arrested four wanted men believed to be behind the shelling of Diwaniya’s Camp Echo, according to an informed source. “One and a half months after receiving full responsibility in al-Furat al-Awsat area (Diwaniya, Babel, Najaf, Karbala and Wassit), some gangs have intensively bombarded military forces…,” the commander of the 8 th division in the Iraqi army, Staff Lt. Gen. Othman al-Ghanimi, told Iraqi News. “We were lying in wait for them and we arrested four, including the mastermind,” the official noted. The U.S.-run Camp Echo has been shelled six times since Iraqi forces took over security duties in late June. Diwaniya, the capital city of Diwaniya province, lies 180 km south of Baghdad. SS (P) 1
