43 arrested, 3 IEDs defused, says MOI

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Forty-three persons, including an Iraqi infiltrator from Syrian territories, were arrested and two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) defused in different areas of the country, according to the Ministry of Interior in a statement on Sunday. “MOI forces arrested 39 suspects in search raids in villages of the al-Shurqat district, Salah al-Din province, and a wanted man in al-Isahaqi district,” read the statement posted on the MOI Web site. “The Baghdad police also arrested a man wanted on charges of kidnapping a woman in the area of Bab al-Muadham and set up a force to free the woman in the man’s place,” it added. “Another force captured an Iraqi infiltrator from Syrian territories and another one in al-Muqdadiya, Diala,” it read.
