55 injured in Kut protests
WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: A total of 55 persons were wounded during protests that hit Kut on Wednesday, according to the media director of the Wassit health department. “Casualties of the recent demonstrations in Kut went up to 55 persons, including two in critical condition,” Falah Qassem told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The wounded are subjected to high intensive care at the Kut hospitals,” he added. Hundreds of protesters staged a demonstration today in front of the local council’s building, calling for improving services and holding corrupt officials accountable.
